I am from Georgia and I contacted TX Toll Authority while on I-10 as I was approaching Houston rush hour at 4pm. The airport now charges the full fee for cross-through to all vehicles. It isn't a violation of the rules, but the discount that had previously been granted to TollTag users has been ended. You can use the road as a toll road simply by driving from one end to the other. The longer your vehicle is inside the airport, the higher the fee will be. International Parkway is not a toll road, but users of the road must pay an access fee which increases with time. This is a convenience provided by the airports, and is separate from interoperability on toll roads. TollTag, and none of the others, can be used to pay for parking at the airports, and for use of International Parkway. The only difference is how much money is tied up in the account and whether you pay monthly or in chunks according to use.Īnother difference is at DFW and Love Field Airports. For all of them, all you pay is the tolls. You get a bill the first of each month for the previous month's tolls, and your credit card is charged around the 15th of the month. The amount of the upfront charge is charged automatically when your balance falls below $10 if your account has 1 or 2 tags, $15 if your account has three tags, $20 with four tags, and $25 with five tags. With the TxTag, there is an upfront charge of $20 per tag (one tag is needed for each vehicle). If you need more tags, that requires a separate $40 payment with a separate schedule. You can have up to three vehicles on an account. With the TollTag, there is a $40 charge upfront and it charges again when your balance falls below $10.
